more valentine's day things!

I couldn't resist posting Rifle Paper Co.'s v-day goodies!  They are so beautiful.  I feel like this holiday is such a good one for Anna to illustrate for, they pair so well together with all the whimsy and romance :)  I also wanted to highlight Yes Jess's knitted hearts!  They are so stinking cute (and...they are only $7!).  Check it all out:

buffalo check & gingham.

I have been perusing buffalo check and gingham items for quite some time now!  Maybe it was the fall and now winter that have been encouraging my liking?  I'm not quite sure, but here are some favorites...

random!

Found a few fun things for you (if you haven't already found them yourself of course!)...

1. the new dreamily colored desktop calendar for December by Shanna Murray and Abby-Powell Thompson:

2. Two more online magazines have new issues!  Hooray!  N.E.E.T. magazine and Sweet Paul magazine (found here).  All of the holiday inspiration that has been available lately has been so fun to look at :)

gifted magazine.

WOW.  Okay, I'm pretty sure that this sweet little magazine has been popping up all over the place but if you haven't checked it out yet, you really should!  I've posted some of my favorite pages below...

GIFTED MAGAZINE (from creature comforts & friends).

It's full of inspirational images and wonderful DIY gift/decoration ideas.  Not to mention, it has snippets from some of the best in the biz (i.e. rifle paper co. and oh my deer).  Also, what is going on with all of these online magazines lately?!  (RUE, N.E.E.T.)  Interesting...

cursive.

I remember a conversation in a class (History of Art Education) I was taking, about how elementary schools are considering no longer teaching cursive/penmanship.  I am not totally sure of the status of this today, but after some quick google checks it seems to be in place...oh, I lament this!  I can understand why this conclusion has been made, but it still saddens me.

Can you imagine going to school to study calligraphy tens of years from now, only to find out that your grandparents had no choice but to learn that as elementary students!?

I sure am thankful for folks like B. Dunlap (photos 1 & 6 below).  Her work is so lovely.

Step one:  paint walls.
